Last night, after five exceptional seasons on the air, Key & Peele ended its run. It's been a fantastic sketch comedy show for a lot of reasons. Keegan-Michael Key is a master of outrage and extreme behavior in comedy. Jordan Peele is the glue; his gift at giving his characters rich inner lives keeps the show grounded. And Peter Atencio...my goodness. One of the main reasons the show was so good was its use of cinematic language. Atencio directed every sketch masterfully.
Normally, I hate linking to a) clickbait and b) Gawker media sites but this list of favorite sketches at Deadspin is a pretty decent introduction/greatest hits collection. But I can't let them have all the clickbacks, so I'l going to embed my favorite K&P sketch below:
