Word of the Day
Docent (n., DOE-sent)
A lecturer or tour guide, especially at a museum or cathedral. One does not need to be decent in order to be a docent but it certainly helps.

The man in the photo above is Michael Larson. Larson held a variety of jobs throughout his life: ice cream truck driver, Wal-Mart manager, Ponzi scheme operator, and game show hustler.
In 1984, Larson went on the popular CBS game show "Press Your Luck." The show was a combination trivia-and-luck format: contestants would answer the clues, then accumulate spins on a board. By spinning, the player could gain money, prizes, and additional spins, or he or she could get a "Whammy" and lose.
Michael Larson walked away from this game with over $100,000 in winnings.
The story of how he did it and what happened afterwords is fascinating, humorous, and tragic. There's other similar stories—and we'll have one next month—but this is a fun read.
