Dilapidated (adj., dill-APP-ih-DAY-ted)

In a state of disrepair or deterioration, whether through neglect or just simple aging. I've often heard this used in reference to cardboard boxes, which makes no sense because they're cardboard boxes and not steel crates. Everything I learned was a lie! There is no Santa Claus! My memories are dilapidated!
