Yesterday, astronauts Scott Kelly and Mikhail Kornienko returned from almost a year aboard the International Space Station. Kelly took a lot of photos during his time in space, and Alan Taylor compiled a number of good ones over at InFocus:
That second image is Lake Tengis in Kazakhstan. Kelly took a number of striking aerial shots like this. It's pretty weird to see Earth in this format at first but it becomes normal after a while. Maybe that's like his time in space. (We'll give him a few days before asking.)
