Word of the Day
Missive (n., MISS-iv)
A letter, especially a long one. A missive does not have to be dismissive. In fact, it may be permissive. But this may be remiss; unlike the Swiss, a missive may need to be commissive. To miss this is to be remiss of being derisive.
We are sorry. The person responsible for the alliteration has been sacked. You may now boo and hiss.
