We were driving home last night when we were blinded. A wide bolt of lightning flashed directly in front of us, searing the pattern into our eyes. Thirty minutes later, it remains when we close our eyes.
There was a lot of lightning last night, illuminating the night sky with its ribbons and flashes. That got us thinking of the photos of lightning striking volcanoes we've seen before. National Geographic has a very good collection of photos, which you should go check out.
