Gregg Allman - My Only True Friend
Gregg Allman's last, posthumous album Southern Blood came out last week. It's as good a slice of southern rock as has been done in the last decade, and it has an even different shade due to the way it was recorded—quickly, at Muscle Shoals studios, with the knowledge that Allman was dying. The music-as-life theme comes through strong here, especially on this excellent opening track:
