Locus (n., low-CUSS)

A point, especially one that everything revolves around. A locus can be mathematical or geographic, but it is a specific, definite place. You could say "We'll meet up at that locus," but that wouldn't be helpful because no one knows what that locus is. You could, however, say "That place will be the locus of all our activity," and that would be correct.
