Trode (v., TROAD)
To have walked on or over something, or to have oppressed someone. Does not require boots, but they are useful.

The BBC has a great mixed-form article about mining for deep-sea resources that you should go check out. It's excellent journalism—fair and well-explained—mixed with some great design and supporting visuals AND a crazy story to lead off. I've attempted to find this story a few times before, so it's good to finally have it surface in the middle of an even better feature.
There's no good image to link; you should get the full experience reading it yourself. Go check it out over at the BBC.
