A few years ago, I gave a designer friend a 1000-piece gradient jigsaw puzzle for Christmas. He texted me a photo one Sunday afternoon, saying, "Great. The border is done. Now what?" I'm not sure the puzzle was ever finished, but there's now a new, even more evil puzzle:
