Vox has a great video introducing us to the history of Blue Note Records' album covers from the 1950s and 60s. The legendary jazz label didn't just create a distinctive sound; they also made some of the best album art for any genre at any time. Reid Miles, who only got $50 a cover, would go on to making far more money for Coca-Cola and other clients, but his influence was clear:
