Fitting, appropriate, or regarding something. Less often used in place of "timely," but it can definitely be used for that. Apropos to that usage, it will make you sound stuffy.

Images from a 19th-century atlas show the world and the heavens
Levi Walter Yaggi published Geographical Portfolio - Comprising Physical, Political, Geologicla, and Astronomical Geography in 1887. The atlas contains numerous beautiful illustrations of the world, space, and the people inhabiting the world. Here's a small sample of the illustrations:
The last image is one of a few that have flaps which open to reveal even more information. Quite an undertaking.
