Switchback (n./v., SWICH-bak)

A sharp bend in a road or a road/rail that climbs up a mountain by making sharp pivots. Can also refer to the process of going up a hill using a switchback railway. But back to the first definition, it's like a lightning bolt pattern, but mixed with a Z.

Ezra Stoller's photography

We're not huge fans of modern architecture, but we are big fans of good photography. Ezra Stoller fits the bill on the second, capturing photos of many Frank Lloyd Wright buildings and other modern works in the mid-20th century. Phaidon had an interview with a Stoller appreciator (worth a read) but also had a few Stoller photos, and they're as striking as ever:
