Solace (n./v., SOAL-us)

Comfort in times of sorrow, or to comfort. Note that "solace" includes the syllable "us," meaning that it must be done for another person. Doing it for yourself ("you") ends in shunning ("solution"). That, friends, is why we don't do etymologies and you shouldn't either.
