The True Size Of...
Maps are notoriously limited at displaying scale. A full rectangular map will skew things on the edges to look much bigger than they are, especially compared to the things in the middle.
The website The True Size aims to fix that. Enter what you want to search for, then drag it over another part of the map and see how big it really is compared to something else. For example, Africa is big enough to fit the United States, India, and China pretty comfortably:
