Sony MDR-7506 Headphones
When The Dailies was initially begun, the idea behind the Link of the Day was to highlight something interesting or useful. It didn't have to be a link. It might be a book, an article, a photo, or even a product that was good.
We haven't done that as much, but today we're turning the spotlight on the excellent and inexpensive Sony MDR-7506 headphones.
We originally found them through The Wirecutter's recommendation for over-the-ear, under-$150 headphones, and they fit all the criteria we had: good, balanced sound; comfortable, even for long periods of time; noise-dampening but not noise-canceling; and not a tiny cable. Also, they're $85 on Amazon, far below what comparable headphones go for. Look at photos of any recording studio and there's a decent chance they're using these workhorses.
Since bringing them to the office, four other people have picked up their own pair and we've heard nothing but good reviews about them. They're terrific and quite worthy of today's link.
