Ingri & Edgar D'Auliare were a husband and wife team who wrote and illustrated a number of children's books in the 1930s. They were from different countries but met in Munich during the 1920s, where both were attending art school. They eventually made it to America, ran into the head librarian for the New York Public Library's children's department, and wrote a couple collections of mythologies for kids.
The D'Auliares' careers spanned almost fifty years. Their two best-known works are their book of Greek myths and book of Norse myths. Both are well-written for a young generation, beautifully illustrated, and a good collection of myths.
