Princess Leia's Stolen Death Star Plans
Today is Thursday, May 4, a.k.a. "Star Wars Day." We hadn't planned to do anything for it—until one of the best things we've seen on the internet in a while dropped three days ago.
"Princess Leia's Stolen Death Star Plans" is a mashup of Star Wars and the entire Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album. Each song is paired with a movie scene, and the results are gold:
Full marks to the Palette-Swap Ninja duo. This is not just good as a mashup; it's incredibly also well-written and well-produced. The songs work as songs and as homages. Our favorite is "Luke is in the Desert and Whining" because...have you seen Star Wars? This takes the prize from "My Spock" as our current favorite pop culture mashup.
