As someone who's never had terrific fine motor control, sculpture has always seemed like a dart art. This confirms the sentiment. To see someone skillfully take a sculpture from idea to model to finished product is meaningful and humbling. Oddly, the shot that sticks with me is the one where Rubincam sips coffee, sits, and thinks about the sculpture. So much effort goes into making something come to life like that, and it's the quiet moments in the middle that are most intriguing.
