Imagine that you bought something without looking too deep at it and then discovered that it was much more valuable than you ever thought. That happened to two friends from Omaha, Nebraska, who purchased a collection of movie poster plates used for printing ads in newspapers. They purchased this gigantic collection in 1999 for $2,000. It has since been appraised at $10,000,000.
There are so many great plates for classic movies in there, and the two are restoring the plates so lovingly. It's a unique glimpse into movie and print history.
Also, if you want to see some good contemporary poster design, here's a good list of the best of 2017.
