Word of the Day

Tincture (n., TINK-sure)

DKNG Studios

The Dailies tends to focus on artists. This week, we're shifting the focus a little to graphic designers. The main difference between the two is the goal: art is focused on the artist's vision while design mixes in business demands and necessities (and, also, is more focused on business-related tasks). There's a lot of good designers, and it's time to give them some love, starting with DKNG Studios.

DKNG Studios is Dan Kuhlken and Nathan Goldman, who started their design company in 2005 and focused on music and film. They were one of the first big internet-age designers to do gig posters, which they've continued for years, landing some major clients along the way. They've also done a variety of other types of projects—rebrandings, packaging, illustration, and more—and are noted for how much they show their process. Here's a smattering of their work:

You can view more of DKNG's work at their website or on Instagram. Prints and other merch can be found at their store.
