Boy, it feels good to have some sun again, doesn't it? We're not necessarily sun 'n' summer people at The Dailies, but after a full week of rain, some sun feels like a good excuse to celebrate.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 gave us one of the more offbeat and enjoyable credits sequences in recent memory, as Baby Groot dances to ELO's ode to sunshine "Mr. Blue Sky" as a giant battle with his friends rages near him in the background. If you haven't seen it, the scene is both funny and charming:
Over time, the internet has caught onto the fact that "Mr. Blue Sky" can improve movie scenes, and has added the song to other scenes. (A friend from work noted that he and his friends used to use "Mr. Blue Sky" as temporary music in the background of many video editing projects, so it's not just an internet thing.) Our favorite mashup is the throne room fight from Star Wars: The Last Jedi:
There are other movie and music mashups that work well, but Mr. Blue Sky is our favorite.
