If you needed more proof that all people need a purpose, this may help. Or that dogs are wonderful creatures. Or that veterinary shelters and hospitals are great, important things. Or that unconditional love has profound effects. This is a story that could come across as maudlin, but it isn't; we recognize that the weight in it is earned.
