To drain, often with water, often removing elements from the original substance. Does not refer to the sluglike parasite or the Air Raid football coach. The coach would never stand for runoff.

Strange Planet
Strange Planet is something that takes a second of explanation, two seconds to comprehend, and pays off in spades. It's a webcomic created by Nathan Pyle, bouncing around the internet for a while, and it features two vaguely humanoid aliens who are getting used to Earth and its rituals. The aliens explain what they are doing using humorously accurate terms. Here's a sampler:
