Phil McNamara was in Papua New Guinea, sailing in the shadow of a smoking mountain when all of a sudden, it exploded:
I wouldn't have expected a volcano to make the kind of "pop" sound we normally hear in a gunshot or explosion. But the force of the explosion—those clouds push up so quickly—results in an incredible short video.
