Patois (n., pah-TWAAAAAH)

A regional dialect that differs from the main pronunciations of a country. Less swapping the plural "you" for "y'all", more garbling sounds to the point of incomprehensibility (looking at you, Bruce Springsteen).

Wave cabinet and other cool product

One of the best things we've ever featured on The Dailies was the Shylights, unfolding silk lamps that are mesmerizing to watch. We haven't featured many striking product designs since then, which we're rectifying today.

The first—and the one that provoked this entry—is the Wave cabinet from Sebastian Errazuriz Studio:

Another cool idea is Australian designer Duncan Meerding's Cracked Log Lamps:

Meerding takes stumps with naturally occurring cracks and inserts LEDs. But Vainius Kubilius doesn't wait; he drills holes in coconuts and makes them into light-spreading lamps:
