Theaters, cathedrals, and bank vaults become bookstores and coffee shops
Take a look at this bookstore. It was originally a theater in Buenos Aires but has been transformed into a beautiful bookstore:
In that second photo, you can see the original architecture and frescoes (look up!) that have been kept even in the building's new form—which is flat-out gorgeous.
Lest you think that theaters are the only thing that can be made into bookstores, a 15th-century Dutch cathedral has also been transformed into a bookstore:
