There's a link that we've wanted to post on The Dailies since our inception but haven't been able to find. It was a large art installation outside a bank made up of thousands of pennies and nickels. The installation, naturally, was set up in a few days and, uh, dispersed unintentionally to various passersby within one day. The photos of the installation were cool, but we haven't been able to find them since.
This penny mosaic pattern floor may be the closest we'll get to it. It's a stunning amount of time and detail:
